Ernestine Ruben has been teaching art since 1954. With students of all levels and ages, she conducts workshops using many types of photography, subject matter and often integrates other art forms.

She is experienced with the human body as it lives and moves in various environments, and has applied this topic to dance, papermaking, glass, sculpture and other non-silver processes. She is particularly interested in working with the creation of vision and addressing the issues found in idea development as well as career direction. Her classes emphasize dialogue on a one to one basis with the student.

Her work has been has been exhibited and collected extensively in Europe and Asia as well as the United States. She is the recipient of several grants and commisions.
